History Of The Grand Ole Opry!
The Grand Ole Opry Stars!

From a small farm on Sand Mountain in Northern Alabama came a set
of brothers that would become true legends of country and gospel music. From pickin'
cotton to pickin' and singing these legends grew up in hard times.
From shy boys singing beneath a bed to the stars of the Grand Ole
Opry and a recording deal with Capital Records these country gentlemen did it all. They
played in the churches, tents, revivals, dance halls, night clubs, community centers and
anywhere else an invite would lead them.
Ira and Charlie had a way with people and a way with writing songs.
Their harmony was like none other. Finally it came to a halt for the brothers when the
eldest brother Ira was taken in an automobile accident. The halt came for the brothers act
but not for Charlie the youngest of the pair.
Charlie Louvin is still working show dates, still singing at the
Grand Ole Opry and still pleasing the crowds where ever he goes. He is a legend in his own
rite, with hit songs beneath his belt. For the complete story purchase the life
story of the Louvin Brothers, "In Close Harmony" I guarantee you will not lay it
down until you have read every single page as I did!
We can't give all the details of these legends on this Website but
we will attempt to give you some insight in their lives, their music and their
inspiration. It is a pleasure building and maintaining this Website and doing all the
research to keep you informed.
Sincerely: The Website Team!
Also coming on this page will be a
links page dedicated in loving memory to my brother!
